Building Technical Questionnaires
The technical system is a little more complicated to set-up than some of the other areas of the site, so we'll try to explain things in a little more detail here.
Most of the other system Modules, such as vehicles or people, are simple forms where you fill in details from which you can generate reports. There's (more or less) no difference in the form content for different artists and the information that you receive is fairly standard.
The technical module, however, approaches things quite differently.
What admin>tech admin enables you to do is to create one (or more) form(s) and then select which form goes with each artist. So you may, for instance, have a form for for those performing on your main stage, a different one for bands performing elsewhere and a third for DJs.
These forms can contain any/as many questions that you want to ask, with a variety of different means for you to gather the results.
So let's take a look at the form itself.

We start off with a title, which can/should be as descriptive as possible (particularly if you are going to generate a number of different questionnaires).
You can then upload stage specs, layout plans, back-line details or any other document. NOTE - you will not be able to upload until you've first saved the questionnaire - otherwise the system won't know which form to link the uploaded file to!
You can, if you'd prefer, list the back-line (or any other content) in the text-area instead of providing a downloadable document.
Adding Questions
Each form can have as many questions, on any subject, that you require. From "How many chairs are needed on stage", to "are you supplying your own IEM". And each question can demand a response from one of six types.

- Yes/No, and Yes/No/Maybe provide simple radio buttons (where you select one or the other).
- Numerical will show a drop-down menu, starting at 0 and going up to the number you provide in the box below it.
- Long Text displays a large, multi-line text box for lengthy answers
- Short Text shows a single line text box, for shorter one/two word answers
- and the Upload Form will display an upload form (unsurprisingly) for the artist (or you on their behalf) to upload their channel list, stage spec, back-line requirements or whatever.
Click 'go' to add another question and, when you're done, 'save form' to save it. Once saved, you can add spaces and horizontal lines to make your form all pretty, use the up and down green arrows to reorder the questions and the red delete icon to remove a question.
