Permissions

Permission types are (one of the methods) used to govern users access to the system. A permission type comprises of a title and more than twenty individual settings, divided into artist, staff and admin areas. When your system is first built, we provide two permission types for you, artist and management. You can add as many new types as you require, as well as edit/delete those that come pre-built.

Permission types are associated with individual users when you create their access account in staff>users.

You can have as many users to a single permission type as you require. Similarly, you can build a specific permission type for just one user (for example, the Technical Manager may have their own permission type).

Artist Settings

Permission settings for artist content have four levels - no access, view only, view and edit and Superuser. Superuser provides additional functionality beyond the standard view/edit, enabling the user to delete content (which is, by the nature of the system, not allowed), view secure parts of the site (financial information) and perform key tasks.

The one setting to be most careful/aware of is contracts. Only superusers (level 3) in contracts will be able to view financial details (fees and deposits) and have the ability to 'pay' deposits.

Generally, only superusers can delete data.

Staff Settings

Control which staff pages the user can view, and the access for accommodation, file management and the scheduler.

Staff Permissions

Most of the above is pretty straight forward, but the scheduler and file management may need a little more explanation.

The Scheduler has the ability for programming to add Unconfirmed Artists (to see how the line-up may look if the negotiations are successful). You can only see unconfirmed artists if you are level two or greater. Only level three is able to add and move artist performances.

File management level of 2 means that they can upload files and set publishing permissions - who the file is intended for and when it's available. Level 1 only lets them view 'staff' files, with no uploading facility.

Admin Settings

Admin permissions switch on/off the various admin pages.
